The Christmas spirit filled ELIS Villamartín during its traditional Christmas concert at Zenia Boulevard, where students and teachers united music and charity in an emotional and multicultural event.

This year, the concert stood out not only for the artistic quality of the participants but also for the announcement of a significant joint donation of €3,000 from ELIS Villamartín and ELIS Murcia. The contribution, destined for IES Albal in Valencia, will provide laboratory equipment and musical instruments to support the school, which was severely affected by the recent DANA storms.

The event offered a unique multicultural experience, featuring students of various nationalities, including Russian, Chinese, English, and Spanish, alongside British and Spanish teachers. Students aged between 9 and 13 performed contemporary songs such as All I Want by Olivia Rodrigo and Only by LeeHi, while the teachers delighted the audience with a selection of Christmas carols in both English and Spanish.

The students’ songs were chosen through an internal vote, encouraging collaborative learning and the exploration of new genres. The arrangements allowed the young musicians to adapt original songs, like Only, from Korean to English, enabling full participation by all members.

This musical achievement was made possible by weeks of rehearsals: students dedicated their Fridays, while teachers prepared their performances during Thursday evenings. The instruments used – including piano, drums, bass, guitars, and vocals – highlighted the talent and dedication of all involved.

The concert concluded with an inspiring message from Ana María Campoy, teacher and coordinator of the ELIS Music School, who thanked students, families, and teachers for their commitment. Attendees were also encouraged to continue supporting charitable initiatives, spreading the Christmas spirit beyond the event.
